Dunkable
Terms of use
The short version: Dunkable is a training app. Jump training carries risk, the number is a measurement rather than a promise, and you train at your own judgement.
Who we are
Dunkable is made by Software Heads Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, number 10754409. Registered office: 12 Lordenshaw Drive, Rothbury, United Kingdom, NE65 7JU.
These terms are between you and Software Heads Limited. Installing or using Dunkable means you accept them. If you do not, delete the app.
Questions about any of this go to support@getdunkable.com.
What Dunkable is
Dunkable measures your True Vertical from slow-mo video recorded on your own phone, and builds a training programme around what it measures. Everything runs on the device. There is no account and no server.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own training. The app, its content and its brand stay ours.
Dunkable is a training app, not a medical one. It does not diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and nothing in it substitutes for a doctor, a physiotherapist or a qualified coach who can see you in person.
Training at your own judgement
Jump training is demanding on knees, ankles and tendons. Plyometrics involve repeated high forces through your joints, and that carries a real risk of injury even when the work is well programmed and well executed.
By following a Dunkable programme you accept that risk. You are responsible for deciding whether you are fit to train, for the surface and the space you train in, for your technique, and for stopping when your body says so. Get medical clearance before you start if you have an injury, a condition, or any reason to think training might not be safe for you.
The app adjusts to what you tell it. Report soreness, report pain, and set your injury flags honestly, because the programme backs off on that information and can only work with what it is given. If something hurts and does not settle, stop and see a physio or a doctor.
What the measurement is
True Vertical is a flight-time measurement: the app finds the frames your feet leave the floor and land again, and derives rise height from the time in between. It is the method sports labs use with force plates, running on a phone camera instead.
We do not guarantee that any individual reading is correct. Camera hardware, lighting, framing, footwear and technique all move the result, and the app rejects a rep rather than guessing when it cannot read one cleanly. Treat your number as a measurement to train against, not as a certified figure. Do not rely on it for selection, assessment, or any decision where being wrong would matter.
Where the app shows how close you are to touching, grabbing or dunking a rim, that is a range built from your own numbers. It describes where you are. It is not a promise about what you will be able to do.
If you are under 18
Dunkable asks your age bracket during setup, and it cannot be skipped, because the answer sets how heavy the plyometric work is allowed to get. Under-18s get the higher-intensity plyometrics held back on safety grounds, following published guidance on youth training.
That gating only works if the answer is true. If you are under 18, tell the app so, and train with the knowledge and supervision of a parent, guardian or coach.
Dunkable is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
What you may not do
Do not reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise pull the app apart, except where the law says you may. Do not copy, resell, rent or redistribute it. Do not use it to build a competing product, and do not strip out or rework our content, branding or research citations for your own publication.
Video you record stays yours. If you choose to share a clip, that is your decision and whatever you share it with has its own terms.
Our responsibility, and its limits
We build this carefully and we test it, and we still cannot promise the app will be free of faults, available without interruption, or suitable for any particular purpose of yours. It is provided as it is.
Some things cannot be limited and we are not trying to limit them. We do not exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Your rights under UK consumer law stand whatever this page says.
Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data, or for loss arising from your reliance on a measurement or a training plan. Where liability can be capped, ours is capped at what you have paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Dunkable is free today, so that figure is currently nothing.
If you pay for something later
Dunkable does not charge for anything today. If a paid tier is added, Apple or Google handles the payment, the price and the cancellation terms are shown before you buy, and this page is updated before it ships.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top moves when we do. If a change materially affects your rights, we will say so plainly on this page rather than editing quietly.
Ending it
Delete the app and this licence ends. Everything the app stored goes with it, because it was all on your phone. We may end your licence if you break these terms.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
